The Hirer magazine asked our MD, Yvonne Whelan if she had any 'positive news' to share with the recruitment marketplace:
It's not all doom and gloom out there; Attitude is key to achieving more business. There are still a number of companies Europe wide who are recruiting for specialist skills across a number of market sectors. They don't want to be sold to; they want to speak to a recruitment consultant who genuinely has the knowledge and ability to send qualified candidates for their vacancies.
Tide was formed to bring back what I call "proper recruitment", listening to our candidates needs. We all know we cannot place everyone but it is important to take the time to try and help them with: interview techniques, CV management, coaching and above all sharing knowledge on their marketplace.
Our clients are no different: we take a very honest approach and we do not say we are a specialist in an area if we do not know anything about it. We have built a strong reputation over a short time and as such have a number of powerful testimonials, which is testament to the fact that we are achieving what we set out to achieve.
Yvonne Whelan, Managing Director who is the founder of Tide set up with an investor, which made the process of setting a new business up easy, slick and efficient. We were able to start working on day 2... Which was brilliant.
Lynsey Smith joined Tide with Yvonne as her Principal Consultant, and we grew to 5 people within month 4 with an additional office in London. We then outgrew our office and moved to Central Edinburgh where we are today (actually we had to move in the building we are in 2 months after arriving as we outgrew that office too!). Tide has fourteen people working for it today and we have just recently made another two key appointments to our Edinburgh team. Juliet Taylor from Hudson who has over 14 years experience and Gary Simpson from RDF with over 5 years experience.
We believe we have a unique team, supportive, we are flexible (working from home), and no office politics and we genuinely have FUN. Each of our consultants has a promotional plan, which is outlined after they have undergone our induction programme.
So.........with as strong team of Experienced Consultants (stemming over 35 years experience collectively), who are a true part of our Company working within their specific niche sectors, providing both permanent and interim recruitment UK and Europe wide, we believe that we can weather the storm as we all have the attitude to succeed and passion for recruitment.
